Unfortunately, the shipping space crisis continues. Get Cars are doing our best to get as many spaces as allowed, and also pushing all avenues to get others to the top of waiting lists. We understand that shipping delays mean funds are tied up and as your partner are making every effort to assist in this matter.
Procedure for booking vehicles:
Get Cars Japan gives a list of all vehicles to each destination to every possible shipping company.
Currently, because ships are full the shipping companies are distributing spaces.
Therefore, some months we will only get 10 spaces when we need 30 or 40.
NOTE: Space on a ship
is requested for ALL vehicles we have purchased as soon as documents arrive
from the auctions.
If you do not see a ship name next to your vehicle in My Account, it does not
mean nothing is being done.
This shipping congestion is a new issue that all export
companies are facing.
Due to container shortages and the effects of COVID 19 on the world economy and
trade industries, container prices have soared (in some cases to 10 times of
the price 1 year ago).
This has led to more and more importers from Japan using RORO shipping, which
in turn has created the crisis.
Shipping companies and agents alike are unsympathetic and cancel bookings or even ships at the last minute. They are also raising their prices to take advantage of the high demand.
Nissan Car Carrier had a ship to Bremerhaven from Tokyo region this month and it seemed we would be able to clear all Tokyo to Europe stock this month. Unfortunately that ship is now no longer calling in Japan.
Here at Get Cars Japan we understand that customers purchase vehicles with high expectations of speedy shipping as we have always provided. Unfortunately, the current climate only allows a select few vehicles to have such a miracle schedule, and we need to kindly request your patience and trust that we are doing our best to get your vehicles shipped at the earliest available time.
We will continue to do our best to get your vehicles shipped as soon as possible.
